Mark Stein
Associate Lecturer
Mark is a coach and organisational consultant, and also Professor Emeritus of Leadership and Management at the University of Leicester. For eleven years he was a full-time Professor at the School of Business, University of Leicester, and also PhD Lead for his last three years there. Mark previously held posts at the London School of Economics, Tavistock Institute of Human Relations, and Imperial College London, where he was Director of the Leadership Module on the Imperial MBA over a five-year period. Mark has also been a Visiting Scholar and Adjunct Professor at INSEAD, Fontainebleau. Mark undertook his doctoral studies under supervision at the Tavistock and Portman, having been involved in this area of work for many years, and he is much influenced by the Tavistock approach.
At the Tavistock and Portman, he is an Associate Lecturer on the professional doctorate in Advanced practice and research: consultation and the organisation(D10D) and Tavistock qualification in consultation (D10C). He is interested in the hopes, aspirations and concerns that people bring to their work, in the functioning of groups and organisations, and how one can research these phenomena in interesting and creative ways.
