Day visitors

Day visits are by appointment only. Visitors receive reference use of our extensive collections, selected access to our online services and use of computers/audio-visual facilities.

Visitors will need to sign in at the Tavistock Centre main reception before getting access to the library. Please wear the visitor badge you receive at all times while you are on the Trust premises and return it to the main building reception when you leave.

Day visitor fees

Our standard fee is £20 per day or £10 for students upon production of valid student ID. Please contact the library or call 020 8938 2520 a few days in advance to book an appointment.

Before visiting us, please have a look at our collections to ensure our service is suitable for your needs. Some items may be excluded from day visitor use.

Visiting hours

Visitors may only use the library Monday to Friday. Opening times can vary throughout the year, with earlier closing on Fridays during term time. Check library opening times before planning or requesting a visit.

Copying and printing

Limited free printing and copying is available for research and academic purposes with consideration of the environment.

Paying for your visit

Payment must be made online. Payment can only be made on the day of visit and on the library premises with assistance from library staff.
