Moodle and digital learning

All of our courses are supported by digital platforms, resources and services

Moodle

Moodle is the online home for our courses. On Moodle you will find essential course information, reading lists and other learning material. You will also submit your assessed work on Moodle using a feature called Turnitin. The ‘My Student Community’ area is used to update you on current opportunities and events.

Moving forwards, when you log into Moodle or library resources, you will be required to take an extra step to confirm your identity. You will be asked to enter a unique code, which will be sent to you by email. Once you enter this code, you will be able to continue as normal.

Zoom

Zoom is used by our online and blended courses for lectures, seminars and other teaching events. If you are studying an on-site course at the Tavistock Centre or at one of the regional centres you may be asked to use Zoom for activities such as guest lectures or personal tutorials. Links for sessions delivered via Zoom will be available on Moodle.

Help using Moodle, Turnitin and Zoom

If you need help using Moodle, Turnitin or Zoom, please contact Digital Education Services.

Digital library resources

View the library pages for access to online journals and databases, e-books and other digital services such as Box of Broadcasts. Your online reading lists are available through Moodle.

Students studying University of Essex courses

If your course is validated by the University of Essex, you will be given a University of Essex IT account, which will give you full access to the University of Essex Library and other services including LinkedIn Learning videos and software to download on your own computer. You will be emailed with details of how to set up your University of Essex IT account.
