Course details
Delivery mode
Our standard delivery model for the course is six half-days, followed by six monthly 75-minute supervision groups – this can be tailored to fit the needs of the commissioning service, as flexibility and customisation are key features of our course delivery. The course can be delivered onsite, locally to you, or online via Zoom, at times mutually convenient for you and the course facilitators.
In addition to the participatory sessions and supervision groups, additional self-study time will also be required for reading.
Course facilitators
Our facilitators are mental health nurses with extensive clinical, training and supervisory experience.
Structure
Each participatory session will comprise three sections, with the final section being a reflective clinical supervision group. Within the first two sections we will be looking at different aspects of reflective clinical supervision and the related theory, practice and skills. Within the reflective clinical supervision group members will be invited to take up different roles to gain experience and to reflect on the positions they have held.
Each week there will be a paper to read (all reading material is provided through the Tavistock and Portman Library).
Each session will start with a check-in and we will be practising the skills and values of reflective clinical supervision within the sessions. This means that we will endeavour to foster curiosity, treat each other with respect and compassion and create a safe learning environment.
Below is an example programme for the course which is based on the standard delivery model for the course and takes place over six-half days. These sessions consist of some taught content, as well as large and small group work.
