Claire Shaw (RNMH, MSc, MA) trained as a mental health nurse, initially working with individuals who self-harmed in a national specialist service. She has worked clinically in psychodynamically informed services for many years and has undertaken her two Masters degrees in ‘Institutional and Community Care’ and ‘Consulting and Leading in Organisations, psychodynamic and systemic approaches’. Alongside her extensive clinical experience she has a long-standing interest in how we support frontline staff to process the impact of work with service users, their families and the teams and organisations we work within. She has experience of facilitating groups for many years and has been developing and delivering training for twenty-five years. She has developed several of the Tavistock courses including ‘Facilitating Reflective Practice Groups’, ‘Reflective Clinical Supervision’ and ‘Reflective Mental Health Practice Today’. Claire continues to teach, supervise and facilitate groups.
