Short and online courses library membership
Some short and online courses give students access to online library resources and services
Information for students
If a short or online course includes library membership, students can use our databases, ebooks and online journals, as well as have reference use of printed material on the library premises. However, they won’t be able to borrow items to read at home.
Students on a course that includes library membership will be informed before the start and receive an email with their Shibboleth login details. Access to Moodle (or the online-only learning platform) and an online reading list might also be confirmed prior to on on completion of booking/enrolment.
Services available
Online library membership includes access to the following resources and services:
- Discovery
- databases
- ebooks
- Box of Broadcasts (BoB)
- online journals
- information skills help (courses with Moodle access only)
Searching for material
Sometimes, students may need to find a book chapter or article on the library databases, especially if your course doesn’t include an online reading list. See below for a quick video guide that shows how to search for items. A Shibboleth login is needed to be able to search and access material.
