Educational Psychologist

Dr Maria Wedlock is a HCPC registered Educational Psychologist working as an Academic tutor on our Doctorate course in Child, community and educational psychology (M4) within the Child and Family Directorate.

Maria qualified as a teacher in 2004 and taught Mathematics in inner London secondary schools before going on to train as a Mathematics teachers abroad. She then individually tutored children excluded from school before working as a Psychology Assistant at Buckinghamshire Educational Psychology Service.

Maria completed her doctoral training on M4 in 2016, with training placements in Islington and Essex. Her doctoral research was on inter-professional supervision, and she has since worked for the West Sussex Educational Psychology Service with a continued interest in supervision.

Maria first worked as a Professional and Academic Tutor for M4 in 2019 and has since also supported the development of the Tavistock and Portman Digital Academy’s course for Senior Mental Health Leads.
