Careers
Our real-time, relevant and respected training will help you to build experience for the career you want
Our courses and accredited trainings have been developed with our students, Health Education England and the mental health sector in mind. If you are considering a complete career change, or are looking to add to or hone the skills that you already have, we have the course for you.
Our clinical courses are accredited by world-recognised bodies from the UK which, crucially, will allow you to practise in the area you have trained in.
We work closely with these organisations to ensure that the training you receive is contemporary and required by the society in which you will work. These include:
- Association of Child Psychotherapists
- Association of Educational Psychologists
- Association for Family and Systemic Practice
- British Psychoanalytic Council
- Skills for Care
Our non-clinical courses provide practical and real-time knowledge and skills that you can transfer to your workplace, even whilst studying.
We are committed to helping you make the most of your time at the Tavistock. Not only will you graduate with a prestigious University of Essex degree or a Tavistock and Portman Trust certificate, you will be equipped with the up-to-date knowledge and transferable skills required by employers.
Our graduates go on to work in many areas including the NHS, state and private education providers, prisons and youth offending services, social work and social care, the judicial system and private practice.
