Clinical Psychologist

Dr Lisa Shaverin is an HCPC accredited and BPS chartered Clinical Psychologist. She has worked for many years in the NHS in specialist and complex mental health services working with adolescents, adults and families and specialising in complex trauma and dissociation. She joined the Tavistock Trauma Team in 2020 and currently works as the clinical team manager in the service, alongside having a small caseload of private patients and supervision. Lisa has trained in a range of different therapy approaches including Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT), systemic psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR) and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). She is also an MBT-A therapist, supervisor and trainer and teaches on MBT-A courses at the Anna Freud Centre.

Lisa has been part of the steering group led by Peter Fonagy and Anthony Bateman in adapting MBT to work with trauma, setting up the first pilot group at the Tavistock Trauma Service in 2021. She also has a particular interest in how trauma and mental health difficulties can impact on parenting and families and supports the work of the Ourtime Foundation, where she co-facilitates multi-family Kidstime workshops for families where there is a parent who has a mental health difficulties.
