Dr. Ann Pellegrini

Dr. Ann Pellegrini is Professor of Performance Studies & Social and Cultural Analysis, and incoming Chair of the Department of Performance Studies, at New York University. Their books include Performance Anxieties: Staging Psychoanalysis, Staging Race (Routledge), the co-edited anthology Queer Theory and the Jewish Question (Columbia University Press), and the co-authored book “You Can Tell Just by Looking” and 21 Other Myths about LGBT Life and People (Beacon Press). They are also the founding co-editor of the “Sexual Cultures” series at New York University Press. Dr. Pellegrini is a trained psychoanalyst currently in private practice in New York City, with lengthy experience working with queer and trans individuals.
