Amanda Mintowt-Czyz
Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
Amanda Mintowt-Czyz started her professional life working as an Occupational Therapist in CAMHS in play therapy, group work and therapeutic work with adolescents before training as a Child Psychotherapist. In addition to her background working as a Child Psychotherapist in CAMHS, she is an experienced lecturer at the Tavistock Clinic. Her teaching includes infant and young child observation, Masters supervision and psychoanalytic theory.
She is also a clinical supervisor on the Child Psychotherapy Training and on the child and adolescent psychological therapies training programme. Amanda has a special interest in infant observation and helping students understand early primitive emotional states and processes. She also has an interest in the intergenerational transmission of trauma and its impact on the infant and young child. She has an independent practice in Hertfordshire where she works with parents, children and adolescents.
