Complex Trauma Workshop Panel

Complex PTSD workshop

News

On Friday 15 May 2026, we hosted a workshop on Responsive Practice and Healthcare for Complex PTSD – bringing practitioners from across North London together for a day of reflection and discussion in The Tavistock Centre.

Led by Dr Joanne Stubley, the workshop included presentations from a variety of speakers, giving clinical, lived experience and academic perspectives, as well as a panel discussion and opportunities for dialogue in small and large groups.

Participants were invited to explore the presentation of Complex Trauma in different professional settings, and to consider the experiences of accessing and engaging appropriate care and treatment for C-PTSD across the lifecycle.

Reflecting on the event, Dr Stubley said: “We were pleased to have representation from perinatal services, child and adolescent services, and adult services, including old age. The workshop was multidisciplinary and multimodal, but the common factor was a desire to think about working with Complex Trauma and a recognition of how difficult this can be. The workshop modelled what many people have described as necessary for this work – connection with others, space for reflection, acknowledgment of struggles, and containment within teams and wider institutions.”

Dr Stubley plans to continue creating spaces for learning, reflecting and sharing of experiences and expertise at The Tavistock Centre, with our one-day conference on Attachment and Relational Complex Trauma coming up next in July 2026.
