The Northern School of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy (NSCAP) is an NHS organisation committed to developing and promoting psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and the application of its core attributes, across the age range in health, education and social contexts. Our strategy is to achieve this by integrating psychotherapeutic practice, research and training into innovative and effective clinical services, consultancy, education and workforce development.
NSCAP was establish by the NHS in 2003 and is funded by Health Education England to support training and workforce development across the north of England. NSCAP is hosted by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We are accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists, the professional body for Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists in the UK, and an Affiliate Member organisation of the British Psychoanalytic Association.
