Monika Celebi
Psychoanalytic psychotherapist and VIG trainer
Monika Celebi is a parent-infant psychotherapist, movement psychotherapist, psychoanalytic psychotherapist, and a trainer and supervisor in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG). With over 40 years of clinical experience, she has worked in a women’s refuge, psychiatric institutions and community mental health services. Currently, she serves as a parent-infant psychotherapist for the Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust community perinatal team and as Clinical Director of Babies1st, supporting parents during the 1001 Critical Days through Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) and Watch, Wait, Wonder (WWW).
Monika collated and edited “Weaving the Cradle”, a book to encourage attunement using parent baby groups. Monika also contributed to the development of training at OXPIP, the University of Hertfordshire, AVIGUK and the NSPCC. She has published on the intersection of psychodynamic thinking, the use of visual imagery and the role of non-verbal communication. Monika is passionate to promote change in how we work with families and with professionals.
