Sylvia Smith

Educator in Health and Social Care

Dr Sylvia Smith has been associated with the Tavistock and Portman for over 20 years, initially as a student and visiting lecturer, before becoming a permanent member of faculty in 2018.

Sylvia leads a module on our professional doctorate in Advanced practice and research: Social work and social care (D55) and supervises doctoral research students, while also teaching on our MA in Social work (M23). Sylvia acts as a mentor coach for new colleagues and for bursary recipients.

Sylvia is also a freelance trainer, coach and consultant, and an enthusiastic podcaster.
