Clinical psychologist

Dr. Laurence Heller is a clinical psychologist, international trainer, and author with over 40 years of experience in trauma healing. He is the creator of the NeuroAffective Relational Model® (NARM®), a clinical approach for addressing complex and developmental trauma. With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Heller developed NARM after working with modalities such as Gestalt, Somatic Experiencing®, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, where he recognized a gap in how to treat developmental trauma.

He is the founder and director of the NARM Training Institute. He teaches advanced NARM trainings in the U.S. and Europe, leads clinical consultations, and speaks at trauma conferences worldwide. His books include Healing Developmental Trauma, translated into 15 languages, The Practical Guide for Healing Developmental Trauma (2022), and Healing Shame and Guilt (2026).
