Darren Bull

Forensic Psychotherapist

Dr Darren Bull qualified as a Medical Doctor in 2007 and went on to train in Psychiatry at the Royal Free. He became interested in psychotherapy within psychiatric practice through psychodynamic case supervision and clinical placements in medium secure forensic hospital locations and a modified therapeutic community for young people. He spent six years working full-time as an In-Reach Prison Staff Psychiatrist, spending time in both men’s and women’s prisons.

These interests led to BPC registration as a Forensic Psychotherapist under the supervision of the late Professor Gill McGauley. In turn, this work spurred his curiosity around attachment and bonding within the earliest relationship, which then led to a move into community Perinatal Psychiatry, around five years ago. He also continues in private practice as an adult psychotherapist.
