Advice on how to view, download and print articles and ebook chapters, plus some troubleshooting tips
Logins
You will need your Shibboleth login to access most of the online resources in your reading list, you should have received this when you started your course. If you haven’t got a Shibboleth account please contact us.
If you have forgotten your Shibboleth login details you can get a Shibboleth username reminder or password reset link.
Accessing full-text papers
We’ve produced an at-a-glance guide on how to get to full-text on key resources.
Ebooks help
See our ebooks help page for advice on how to download books and chapters from our main providers.
Browsers
Although the online reading lists work best with Microsoft Edge, they are compatible with most browsers. If you experience problems please make sure that you have the latest version. You can download the latest versions of the most popular browsers below:
Pop-ups
The full-text papers will open in a new browser window – if nothing happens please check your browser’s pop-up settings. If pop-ups are blocked you may need to add the following sites as exceptions: mylearning.tavistockandportman.ac.uk and tavi.keylinks.org.
iPads and iPhones typically have pop-ups blocked as their default setting, see the iPad/iPhone link below if you need help changing this
More information about pop-ups can be found here:
- Microsoft Edge browser settings
- Firefox pop-up settings
- Chrome pop-up settings
- Safari pop-up settings
- iPad/iPhone pop-up settings
Using our full-text PDFs
All our recommended browsers have built-in readers that should display full-text PDFs when you open them. Alternatively, you could download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDFs.
It’s also possible to listen to the content of full-text PDFs by using text-to-speech functions in browsers or PDF readers. See our examples of how to use Microsoft Edge to listen to readings.
