Advancing Minds: Postgraduate Skills and Research Week

Save the date: Our first Postgraduate Skills and Research Week will take place from Monday 17 March to Thursday 20 March 2025.

In 2025, we are excited to be planning our first ever Postgraduate Skills and Research Week, which will combine our annual Research Week and Skills Fest into one week-long festival of online and in-person workshops, talks and events.

Focused on developing key academic and research skills and celebrating research activities, the week is open to all students and members of staff at The Tavistock and Portman, as well as anyone interested in learning more about our work.

Wondering what to expect?

Previous Research Week and Skills Fest programmes have included:

  • Skills sessions: Academic and professional services staff delivered practical workshops covering key skills such as referencing, using Artificial Intelligence (AI), navigating your career and more.
  • Keynotes: Our own faculty and eminent speakers from other institutions presented their research, offering advice for current and future students and researchers.
  • Research Conference: Keynote speakers, doctoral candidates and alumni joined us for a full day of presentations and discussions, developing links across our doctoral programmes and beyond.

We look forward to developing an innovative and engaging programme for our first Postgraduate Skills and Research Week, and we hope you will join us from Monday 17 March to Thursday 20 March 2025. We will share a full programme and joining information soon.
