Information on student visas

As of the 5 October 2020, the Tier 4 visa route that was used by international students to study in the UK was replaced by a new visa route called “Student visa”.  This will be required by new international applicants to our courses who want to join us.

If you require a Student visa, please apply for your chosen course as early as possible, as the application process for a Student visa can only begin once you have received, and accepted, an unconditional offer of study.

If you are applying for a Student visa from outside the UK, the earliest you can apply is up to six months before your course start date, and you can usually expect to receive a decision within three weeks of submitting your application. If you are applying from within the UK, the earliest you can apply for a visa is up to three months before your course start date, and you can usually expect to receive a decision within eight weeks of submitting your application.

Please review the most up to date information on the UK Government’s Student visa web pages.

We strongly advise that you keep up to date with the rules and regulations via the UKVI website. The UK Visas and Immigration website has a lot of information for international students.

If you require further information about our visa process, please contact our overseas student office.

Please note: If you hold a current Tier 4 visa it remains valid and continues with exactly the same conditions and rights as before.
