Trust offers more bursaries to increase racial diversity

In line with the Trust’s commitment to becoming an anti-racist organisation, the Tavistock and Portman Charity is offering two more bursaries for new students from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds. These two bursaries will be for our British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) accredited master’s in Psychological therapies with children, young people and families postgraduate course (M34).

Offer holders from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who are due to begin the M34 course in October 2021 are encouraged to apply now for these bursaries. Each bursary package includes full payment of tuition fees and mentoring support. 

Paul Dugmore, the Associate Dean for Learning & Teaching said: 

“We’re delighted to offer these bursaries to help increase access to our postgraduate training courses for Black, Asian and other under-represented ethnic groups. We feel it’s important not only to provide financial support, but also to offer mentoring to help minority ethnic students succeed in their studies and their careers. It’s incredibly important to us at the Tavistock that people from all ethnic backgrounds can have the chance to become mental health professionals.”

Applications for the bursary are by personal statement (maximum 500 words) to be sent to: psychological.therapies@tavi-port.nhs.uk by Friday 27 August 2021.
