Alumni library access
How you can use the library when you complete your studies
We offer our postgraduate alumni access to the Tavistock and Portman Library. There are two options: free alumni reader access or paid alumni library membership.
Find out more on how the library can help you on our membership benefits page.
Alumni reader access
- Reader access is free
- You will need to visit the library in person to use services
- Get on-site access to online resources, subject to some restrictions
- Read our print collection in the library – you will not be able to borrow items
- Expert support from library staff
- Advance booking is required by contacting the library – please note that Tuesdays and Wednesdays can be busy during term-time
Paid alumni membership
- Online access to all our databases, journals and ebooks from anywhere
- Borrow up to five items at any one time
- Expert support from library staff
- Use library study spaces at the Tavistock Centre
- Choose six-month or one-year membership
- Sign up for paid alumni membership on our membership payment page and be sure to choose the alumni option
Both alumni options are open to former students of a postgraduate course of at least one year in length. Alumni members of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists (TSP) automatically get library membership and will not need alumni reader access nor paid alumni library membership to use our services.
If you have any questions, you can email the library or use our web chat service.
