Library strategy and policies
How the library is working to serve its members and develop new services and staff skills
Library strategy
The strategy presents key performance areas on which the library will focus during the next three years. These key performance areas are:
- new staff induction programme
- managing and organising information
- exploiting our resources
- service delivery
See the complete 2021-2023 Library and Information Service strategy for full details.

The library staff need to ensure that they have all of the necessary skills to deliver a current, innovative library and information service. The framework outlines the skills, how they will be achieved and a time frame for the training.
The framework is divided into various parts, some of which are refreshers and others new staff induction:
- user experience
- systems, collections and processes
- widening participation, equality and diversity
- research support
- finance and resource management
- space management
- library staff training and management
- new ways of working
