Valerie Sinason Phd is a poet, write and retired child psychotherapist and adult psychoanalyst. She was founder director and now Patron of the Clinic for Dissociative Studies, President of the Institute for Psychotherapy and Disability, and on the Board of Directors of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD) where she received a lifetime achievement award in 2016. She has published 15 books and over 200 papers on disability and trauma. She worked for 20 years at the Tavistock and Portman Trust
