Andrew Williams

Psychoanalyst

Dr Andrew Williams was a Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic Psychotherapy at the Portman Clinic until 2021, and now practices as a psychoanalyst in private practice. He was Course Lead for the Portman Clinic training in Forensic Psychotherapy for several years. During his career, he has worked as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist across various forensic settings including prison, probation, community and inpatient secure settings, including Broadmoor Hospital. He is co-editor of ‘‘Forensic Group Psychotherapy: The Portman Clinic Approach’ (Karnac) and co-author of ‘Assessing Risk: A Relational Approach’ (Routledge).
